Our Story
Clinical Leadership Rooted in Compassion
With over two decades of collective experience in the mental health field, Sherwood Behavioral Health is dedicated to the intersection of clinical excellence and operational integrity. Our mission is to elevate the standard of behavioral healthcare through expert clinical supervision, strategic program development, and a steadfast commitment to trauma-informed care, advocacy, and support for children and families.
Our Clinical Philosophy
At the heart of Sherwood Behavioral Health is the belief that every individual deserves a treatment plan that honors their unique value. We reject "one-size-fits-all" approaches; instead, we prioritize the dignity of the person over the label of the diagnosis.
The Empowerment-Centered Approach: We recognize that mental health is deeply tied to a person's sense of self-worth. Our philosophy centers on restoring the belief that our clients are capable of growth and deserving of a fulfilling life.
For Clients: We provide a sanctuary for healing, using interventions that center the client's autonomy. We teach the practical skills necessary for clients to take ownership of their mental health and emotional well-being.
For Schools & Educators: We view ourselves as an extension of the support team, providing the clinical expertise necessary to help students overcome barriers. We advocate for the student's needs while helping them build the confidence to succeed in their environment.
For Courts & Social Services (DSS): We understand the complexities of legal and protective mandates. We provide thorough, timely, and objective clinical documentation that advocates for the client’s well-being and best interests, always striving to empower families to reach their goals and regain independence.
We strive to be more than just a provider; we are a partner in human restoration. By combining clinical rigor with a steadfast commitment to individual autonomy, Sherwood Behavioral Health serves as a reliable resource for those who need it most, when they need it most.
Mission Statement
At Sherwood Behavioral Health LLC, our mission is to provide compassionate, trauma-informed, and evidence-based mental health care that empowers children, families, and individuals to navigate life’s challenges. We are dedicated to upholding the inherent dignity and autonomy of every client, ensuring they are active partners in their own healing process. By building bridges between clinical excellence and the communities we serve—including schools, courts, and social services—we foster resilience, promote self-worth, and support long-term stability.
Our Values
These core principles guide every interaction and clinical decision we make:
Inherent Worth & Autonomy: We believe every individual has the right to self-determination. We work to restore and amplify our clients' sense of agency, ensuring their voice is the most important one in their treatment journey.
Integrity & Transparency: We provide ethical, honest, and reliable care, maintaining open communication with our clients and our partners in the legal and educational systems.
Trauma-Informed Excellence: We understand the profound impact of trauma. Our clinicians provide a safe, non-judgmental environment that promotes dignity and respects the pace of individual healing.
Collaborative Partnership: We utilize a "wrap-around" approach. By actively collaborating with schools, DSS, and judicial systems, we ensure a unified, supportive network that reinforces the client’s progress in every facet of their life.
Inclusivity & Dignity: We honor the diverse backgrounds and experiences of every individual. We are committed to providing equitable care that respects the unique identity and human rights of every client we serve.

Areas of Expertise
Our expertise spans hospital, residential, school, community mental health and outpatient settings, providing behavioral health services with a 360-degree perspective of the mental health landscape. We specialize in:
Clinical Supervision & Mentorship: Cultivating the next generation of clinicians through evidence-based training, rigorous supervision, and a commitment to ongoing professional growth.
Program Development: Designing and optimizing comprehensive programs—including ACT and Substance Use IOP—from the ground up to ensure they meet the highest regulatory, ethical, and clinical standards.
Crisis Intervention: Navigating complex, high-acuity cases with a focus on immediate stabilization and seamless continuity of care.
Multicultural Competency: Integrating deep cross-cultural proficiency into every aspect of our practice to serve diverse and underserved populations with dignity and effectiveness.
Effective therapy begins with a safe space, but sustainable healing requires a system that works. Our goal is to build those systems and support the clinicians who lead them.
